I’m Marni Hazan, a junior education major here at the University of
Maryland. Technology seems to have
taken over our society and in the 21st century, you are out of the
loop if you don’t know how to use it.
As a part of our every day communication, we are kept updated on events
occurring. I feel
as though most of my life is based around technology, along with most of
everyone’s life I am associated with.
Whether I’m texting my friends from my phone, checking facebook during
class, or sending emails from my computer, during at least one point during my
day I will have engaged with a technological device. As a matter of fact, when my grandparents struggle in
understanding how to use devices as such, I look at them as if they are crazy
before I remember that technology has so recently become a part of our
society.
Because technology has increasingly become a part of our world, I
believe that it is imperative to introduce to children how to use technology
from a young age. It will only
continue to grow and become an even larger part of our society; using it as a
part of our educational system will familiarize children with how to work our
world.
As for me, I have trouble myself working with technology. Not only do I need to know how to use
it in order to teach my students, but also I would like to learn these skills
for my own enjoyment. I believe
that using technology opens many doors and will allow me to do an array of
things either stationary or on the go.
I can’t wait to become familiarized with the network and look forward to
expanding my knowledge on mass communication technology.
