All About Me!

I’m Marni Hazan, a junior education major here at the University of Maryland.  Technology seems to have taken over our society and in the 21^st century, you are out of the loop if you don’t know how to use it.  As a part of our every day communication, we are kept updated on events occurring.  I feel as though most of my life is based around technology, along with most of everyone’s life I am associated with.  Whether I’m texting my friends from my phone, checking facebook during class, or sending emails from my computer, during at least one point during my day I will have engaged with a technological device.  As a matter of fact, when my grandparents struggle in understanding how to use devices as such, I look at them as if they are crazy before I remember that technology has so recently become a part of our society.  

Because technology has increasingly become a part of our world, I believe that it is imperative to introduce to children how to use technology from a young age.  It will only continue to grow and become an even larger part of our society; using it as a part of our educational system will familiarize children with how to work our world. 

As for me, I have trouble myself working with technology.  Not only do I need to know how to use it in order to teach my students, but also I would like to learn these skills for my own enjoyment.  I believe that using technology opens many doors and will allow me to do an array of things either stationary or on the go.  I can’t wait to become familiarized with the network and look forward to expanding my knowledge on mass communication technology.
